I played it, but...

Like many others that have played MMORPG games, and I come from the EQ1 days, this game is great if you're a somewhat casual gamer who enjoys fast and quick satisfaction.

Don't get me wrong, I've played this game to level 60 and I was able to enjoy the benefits of PvP rank 8 (with an amazing 1.2K kills on rainy Sunday), but other than that, this game falls short on several aspects.

1. Quests - The only, somewhat satisfying quest, I was able to get my hands on were those related to keys/access to higher end zones/dungeons and the epic horse quest for my warlock. There are no 'epic' gear quests; no chain-quests worth your time and effort a level 60 (I can't comment on the new expansion). Quests for high level characters are not worth the time for the reward, unless those quests take you into the grinding hours of a high level dungeon, but we'll get into dungeons/high level content in a bit. I do have to give thumbs up to WoW developers; this game has tons of quest, but my only disappointment - sense of accomplishment. From all the quests I finished with my warlock, there wasn't a single quest reward that I kept from having a sentiment of accomplishment or pride, except maybe from the Christmas/season quests. Then again, this game is geared to the 'casual' player, so in disappointing way I understand this.

2. Communtiy - OMFG, l337 uber d00dz in this game. Yes, this game certainly appeals to younger players, indeed - young players. In the two years that I've played this game; I was never able to get a sense of community in this game. To give you an idea..browse the official Blizzard forums for this game and you'll see the kind of players that you're going to have to interact with while you play this game. On the other hand, should you bring your pals to this game and solely play with them - the game becomes more enjoyable, but if you're a somewhat mature player, don't expect to 'fit in' right away. No disrespect to all the six million 'younger' players that 'casually' log on to WoW, but some of those 'casual' players need to learn how to play nice with others. Then again, this game is geared to the ' younger and casual' player, so in disappointing way I understand this. (Yes, the last sentence was a copy/paste)

3. PvP - One the best things this game had going for it, but like many good things - it had to come to an end. Whomever said this game had no 'grind' - wroong! Blizzard's implementation of PvP was second to Mythic's (DAoC) PvP implementation. (Long live Dark Age of Camelot) Although their first pvp implementation had many flaws; it certainly was more rewarding for the 'casual and younger' player. Their new pvp implementation it's just a mindless grind with the same rewards before their 'newly and improved' pvp revamp. Again, for those up to the mindless grind (forgive my repetitiveness), go ahead and grind to get the same pvp rewards as before. Then again, this game is geared to the ' younger and casual' player, so in disappointing way I understand this. (Oops! I did it again)
